My name is Dave, but this blog isn’t about me…it’s about Jesus.

I created this blog for a few reasons. First off, I believe that there is a desperate shortage of encouragement in the world and I feel called to be part of the remedy. It’s my goal to share God’s Word and to bring more laughter, joy, peace and perspective to your life. In short, these posts will be designed to give a shot of caffeine to your soul, and let’s face it, we could all use more of that!

I also created this blog, because I think that Christian people with good intentions have often overcomplicated the beautiful, powerful and life-changing message of the Gospel. I want to write posts that remind us of the simple truths of God’s love and grace. When we put our focus on Him and His love for us, this crazy world (and our place in it) starts to make a little bit more sense.

That’s about it. I am honored to be sharing these words of encouragement with you and I hope you’ll make a  shot of Soul Caffeine a pat of your daily routine. Thanks and God bless.

The need to be involved with others brings back an old song; “others lord yes others let this my motto be, help me to live for others that I might live for thee.

Hi Dave, pls answer my urgent question 😦 In your opinion, is that okay if a Christian dates Catholic ?

    • soulcaffeine says:

Chris, you asked a great question essentially about whether Protestants should date Catholics. I believe that a lot of prayer should proceed getting involved in any relationships that might lead to marriage. A follower of Christ should only date someone they could marry and they should only marry someone who brings them closer to Christ. I’m not saying the two people have to see exactly eye to eye on every point of doctrine, but they must be on the same page when it comes to their commitment to Christ or else their commitment to one another will suffer.

      • Chris says:

Thank you so much for the reply, i really” appreciate that and it really” helpful. In my case at the moment, she does not cause me to get closer to God, since she is somehow a ‘beginner’ in terms of getting to know God. Thats why i teach them many things to get her closer to God.
In your honest opinion, as you mentioned that “a follower of Christ should (i’d say must) only date someone they could marry”, technically (theoretically) am I allowed to marry her ? cz if God does not allow me to do so, i will not put effort in this relationship except i’ll still try to get her closer to God.

        kindly regards,
